Who we are
As a Protestant church, our diversity reflects our belief that all people need to experience the hope and healing that can only come through Jesus Christ. We provide engaging ministries for all walks of life to reach them with the hope and healing found in Jesus.
Our History
Our story dates back to a prayer meeting held in the historic Georgia Schoolhouse in 1928. The small group was simply known as “Georgia Mission.” In 1937, then known as “The Church of Georgia,” we built on our present property, and various additions have been added throughout the years. In 1946, we became known as “Georgia Assembly of God” after affiliating with the Assemblies of God denomination a few years earlier.
Today
Since 1966 we’ve been “First Assembly of God of Freehold Township,” and built a new sanctuary in 2015. Currently, Rev. Jeffrey Philhower is serving as the 5th pastor in our church’s history.
