December 10 | Micah’s Prophecy
Micah 5:2-4
2 “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
though you are small among the clans Judah, out of you will come for me
one who will be ruler over Israel,
whose origins are from of old,
from ancient times.”
3 Therefore Israel will be abandoned
until the time when she who is in labor bears a son, and the rest of his brothers return
to join the Israelites.
4 He will stand and shepherd his flock
in the strength of the Lord,
in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God. And they will live securely, for then his greatness will reach to the ends of the earth.
Micah’s Prophecy
The history books are filled with recorded events that have already happened; none tell what will happen. In the Bible, God told Micah what is going to happen. He tells of the things that will take place before, during and after the King's birth. He even placed a bright star that some wise men followed to welcome the newborn King. God knew where His son would be born, who would give birth to him, and where it would all take place.
Micah 5:2, 3 lets us know where the future ruler of Israel is going to be born, in Bethlehem Ephrathah. Also, it speaks about his mother in labor and what was going to happen to the Israelites. This is just one of the many prophecies God gave in the Old Testament of Jesus. This prophecy led the wise men to come from the east; they were so excited! They traveled with gifts to see the newborn King in Bethlehem.
Who are you excited about seeing today? Is it Jesus?
Romans 6:23 says, “All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” Let us be wise and seek Christ today.
Let us be excited about seeing King Jesus this season, not the gifts.
