December 16 | Gripping Love
Mark 1:1-3 (NIV)
The beginning of the good news about Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God, 2 as it is written in Isaiah the prophet:
“I will send my messenger ahead of you,
who will prepare your way”—
3 “a voice of one calling in the wilderness,
‘Prepare the way for the Lord,
make straight paths for him.’”
The Christmas message is the message of God‘s love for mankind. As the songwriter said, “Oh love of God how rich and pure, how measure less and strong, it shall forever more endure, the saints and angels song.”
God loves you so much that he presented his son Jesus Christ to be your sacrifice, your atonement, your provision. He allowed his son to become your substitute at Calvary. God was never willing that anyone should perish, but that all might have everlasting life.
I pray that the Holy Spirit will somehow grip you wherever you may be, and help you understand the enormity of the love of God for you. No, I am not speaking to anyone else, but I’m speaking to you. God‘s love is for you; it is personal, it is intense, he wants you to hear it, he wants you to believe it, and know that God loves you, especially at this Christmas season. God bless you!
