02/12/23 | Courage: The Book of Esther // 2. “The Courage of Inconvenience”

02/05/23 | How do we find the courage to step up when God calls us to do so? The Book of Esther serves as our guide in this series as we study the different characters in the story, how God was at work behind the scenes, and how each player in the story found the courage to step up and step out as God called them to.

In Week 2, Pastor Matt talks about the Courage of Inconvenience. Although we don’t enjoy the interruption, Pastor Matt shows how inconvenience is often how God intervenes. Mordecai’s famous words to Esther highlight God’s activity behind the scenes, saying that perhaps she was made queen “for such a time as this,” knowing that her earthly placement had divine purpose. Using Mordecai & Esther as a role model, Pastor Matt challenges us to:

Seek opportunities (Esther 4:14, 16; Ephesians 5:15-17)

Step out in action (Esther 4:16; James 1:22)

Sacrifice for others (Esther 4:16; John 15:12-17)
