Advent:
The Season of Expectation
A 25-Day Devotional
Advent: The Season of Expectation
Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
Hebrews 10:23-25 (NLT)
Every Christmas season is a reminder of God’s incredible, all-encompassing love for humankind. In this season of expectation, we look forward not simply to gifts or lights or relationships, but to the coming of Christ.
This year our church put together this devotional written by our pastoral staff, office staff, current & past board members, as well as ministry leaders, retired pastors, and others in our church. We’re so thankful for this wonderful family of believers of which we are all a part.
Whether you find this Christmas to be a time of joy or a time of grief, we know that every Christmas is a time of hope. We pray this devotional not only helps you to remember what Christ as done for us in the past, but fills you with the confident expectation of how God will ultimately make all things right and beautiful. This marvelous hope unites all believers into the community of faith, who “encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near” (Hebrews 10:25b).
Merry Christmas!

Ever watch an action movie where the hero is going to do a "save the world feat" but first makes a promise to a child boldly declaring, "Don't worry, I'll be back"?
